# OBRetentionService client proxy documentation

`OBRetentionService` is the WCF Service Reference through which the `ProcessOB3PRetention` console application calls the `ThirdPartyArchivalService`†, inferred to be a Hyland OnBase Web Service Publishing integration*. The proxy exposes one contract operation, `ArchiveDocument`, which the application calls once per batch of claim numbers to deliver them to OnBase for third-party retention processing*.
